For Mark Pontz, senior loan consultant at loanDepot, the best part of his job is closing day. Even though it is always hard to say goodbye at the end of the mortgage process, seeing his clients ecstatically close on their new home is a true joy — and it also happens to be why Pontz loves working with his many repeat clients through the decades.

Pontz was born and raised in Lancaster; he cannot imagine living anywhere else. He has been in the mortgage field for several decades, and is passionate about demystifying a very stressful time in his clients’ lives — walking them through every step of the loan process and supporting them from pre-approval through their closing date. He prides himself on exceptional customer service, often answering questions from clients who moved into their home years prior or connecting them with other trusted experts when possible.

Mark is a patron of the arts in his community. He is dedicated to supporting local nonprofits and small businesses through his role as the publisher at Fine Living Lancaster magazine, which he founded more than 15 years ago and is currently a family business. In his free time, he explores his passion for photography, plays bass guitar in two bands, and enjoys cooking meals to share with his lovely wife, Marian.
