Joseph McMahon, Founder of Lancaster Law Group
As the founder of Lancaster Law Group, Joe McMahon is focused on upholding the principle that he started his firm with: providing thorough, knowledgeable, and aggressive representation to every client, in every case. Personally, he handles criminal defense, DUI, family law, and protection from abuse (PFA) matters, but the firm handles a plethora of other legal issues.
After earning his law degree from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law, McMahon began his career by serving as a law clerk at the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas. He then accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney at the Office of the District Attorney of Lancaster County. During this time, he developed a reputation as a principled and aggressive litigator who dealt with a myriad of legal issues and complex cases.
Bringing the vast knowledge and unique experience he earned during his time with the Office of the District Attorney, McMahon then entered private practice — litigating cases from minor traffic offenses through 1st Degree Murder Death Penalty litigation. McMahon is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has also successfully argued before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lancaster County bar associations.
McMahon grew up in Lancaster County, and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He enjoys spending his time with his wife and children, is an avid sports fan, and is an active volunteer at his children’s school and within our larger community.
